My name is Ari Zayon, I am 33 years old and work as the business manager for a marketing company. I discovered CrossFit while trying to lose weight through running but keep gaining it back during the winter because I hate the cold and treadmills. A coworker of mine at the time was doing CrossFit so I figured why not I’ll give it a try and get back to running when the warm weather returns but never did.
Why did you end up sticking with CrossFit?
Atfirst, I liked CrossFit because I knew I could show up get a good workout and not get bored or have to figure out what I need to do which would happen whenever I had tried going to gyms in the past. What really kept me coming back was the community I became a part of with everyone working towards a common goal and supporting and pushing each other to be better.
What achievement or PR are you most proud of, and what is your next goal you’re working toward?
The achievement I am most proud of is being part of the 12-Month Committed Club. The goal I am currently working towards is being able to snatch my body weight before the end of the year.
What advice would you give to someone who is New Or Considering Trying CrossFit?
The advice I would give someone considering CrossFit is something I saw on Instagram recently that really made an impression on me. “Always remember to have fun with training. The happiness you feel after a PR lift doesn’t last long and then it’s back to the grind. So instead of chasing that feeling, learn to fall in love with the process of training.”
