Titan of the Month September 2022 – Brianna Fachler

IMG 8684

Hi, I’m Bri! I’m 25 years old and currently work as a clinical dietitian at a hospital. On the side I work at the Island View Waterfront Café where I bartend and help with different events. Aside from CrossFit, I love biking and recently have gotten into rock climbing. I like to stay super busy, however, when I’m home I hang out with my super cute cat named Raspberry.

What led you to try CrossFit?

I was first exposed to CrossFit by my sister Katie. I wanted to be as cool as my older sister and decided to go for it after seeing her do it for several years.

Why did you continue to CrossFit?

I continue CrossFit because it has added so much to my life. I have made the most amazing friends while simultaneously accomplishing goals in the gym. I also love the feeling of completing a challenging workout that on paper may look impossible.

Describe how your attitude towards health and fitness has evolved since you began your journey

My attitude towards health and fitness has changed greatly. After doing cross country and track in high school, I had the mindset that I was not actually getting a good workout in unless I was running. I was still continuing to run in college even though I did not enjoy it. CrossFit has shown me that there are sooo many other parts of fitness other than running. I have also delvoped the attitude that fitness should be fun and not something you dread. I truly enjoy having CrossFit as part my routine.

Share a memorable CrossFit moment that makes you laugh or puts a smile on your face

A memorable CrossFit moment for me was during the MACC last year. Me and coach Jess were a part of a team together and had to do an event where she did a 1 rep max clean and jerk and I did a 1 RM snatch. We both ended up PRing and just had the best time surprising ourselves with what we could do and feeling so accomplished and proud.

What are you proud of and why?

I am proud of how much I have progressed over the years. It is amazing to me the things I can do now versus when I first started CrossFit. My snatch and clean and jerk make me the most proud as I have been working on my form for years! Seeing my progress with the lifts makes me so happy. (Shoutout to coach Spin and coach Nicole’s liftng class!)

What’s your advice for other CrossFitters or people looking to start?

My advice would be if there’s a movement you want to get or get better at practice practice practice! Staying consistent with it makes a huge difference.

Why the coaches chose Bri as Titan of the month

Bri is always bubbly and happy to be at Titan.  Her smile is contagious. She is humble, hardworking, never complains and has been consistent in her training. She puts hours in practicing both movements she loves and movements she needs work on.  Her dedication has paid off with numerous recent personal records. Titan is proud to have her as a member others can look up to.
